Star Cruises, the Leading Cruise Line in Asia-Pacific, is pleased to announce the winning of the “Best Cruise Operator” at the TravelWeekly (Asia) Industry Awards 2008 which aims to recognize the best in different fields and acknowledge their contributions to the tourism industry in Asia. Star Cruises is much honored to be the winner of “Best Cruise Operator” under Tourism Products for the second year. The award presentation ceremony was held at Marriott Hotel in Singapore on 17 July 2008.

Star Cruises has always been committed to community services. Charitable activities are organised by the various regional offices from time to time. Following the relocation of the Company headquarters to Hong Kong in 2007, the Star Cruises Volunteer Team (Hong Kong) - STAR Cares is thus established to serve the community. The first service of the team was an activity jointly organized with Hong Kong Christian Services to invite 200 elderly from 6 elderly centres under the organization to celebrate Father’s and Mother’s Day onboard Star Pisces.
SuperStar Virgo Attracts 2,000 Indian Tourists to Hong Kong
SuperStar Virgo, the largest and most luxurious cruise ship in Star Cruises Asian fleet, has always been a popular choice for long haul tourists, amongst which India is an important market. The Company welcomes a group of 1,000 yogis from India to board SuperStar Virgo on 1 June for a 6-day 5-night South China Sea cruise, marking the records for both SuperStar Virgo being the largest party onboard since deployment to Hong Kong in April, as well as for Hong Kong as being the largest single Indian group visiting the city.
Star Cruises Sells Norwegian Dream And Norwegian Majesty To Strengthen Capital Structure
Star Cruises today announced another step to further strengthen the Group’s capital structure. The Group has completed the sale of two ships, Norwegian Dream and Norwegian Majesty to the Cyprus Louis Group for US$218 million and US$162 million respectively. The two ships will be chartered back from the new owner to complete their announced scheduled itineraries in November 2008 for Norwegian Dream and December 2009 for Norwegian Majesty.
